LMNHALR Update

EMAIL TO TEAM

Guys,

Hope everything is going well and you haven’t worked to hard picking up tree limbs, branches, leaves etc. It seems that everyone I have talked to made out OK. Now for the real important stuff:

Cage Kit and materials are at my office. I have my week planned in order to get the brake system up to speed and the roll cage at least fit completely by the end of next week, leaving Saturday as a work day to get the interior creature comforts and safety gear installed. If you are able to spend some time with us this week (Mon, Thurs, Fri evening for a couple of hours) or Saturday, it will be a great help.

Some of the items left to be completed (and don’t be afraid to volunteer to take on one or more of these projects) are:
  • Radiator mount and protective steel
  • Dash removed and ductwork deleted (Hello Robbie!) in a manner so we can re install it
  • Battery relocated; have almost all materials
  • Kill switch installed; we have it
  • Seat and belts installed; Dave Lastrappes is giving us a set of G-Force belts that are good as new and I have an Ultrashield 17” that should fit all of our big A**** and should drown the remaining ones
  • Removable steering wheel installed; Mike has the quick release and I have a wheel
  • Install rear spring perches (Hello Dennis!)
  • Fabricate fuel filler mount
  • Fabricate Lexan rear windshield (Hello Dr. Phil!); materials are in hand
  • Skin passenger side door
  • Skin tail gate
  • Install tabs for passenger door and tail gate
  • Re-work shifter to be comfortable when drivers are in the race seat
  • Install front cap and grill
  • Fabricate sheet metal light covers
  • Bumper re-enforcements

It seems like a lot, but with 4 or 5 people, it will get done in no time. One last thing, we need a number, any suggestions?

Chris Wilken
